Bangkok Kitchen, Southwark
Cooking up a storm on the streets of Southwark the Bangkok Kitchen is one to check out for cheap lunchtime eats!
I love Thai food, always have but after visiting Thailand I loved Thai food even more. Ask anyone who's been to Thailand and they will tell you that you will never quite be able to get that authentic taste that get from the numerous street food vendors who I mostly lived off while I was traveling.
If you work in or live around Southwark you would be well advised to visit the Bangkok Kitchen, it's a small operation which looks a bit ramshackle but don't be fooled as the food is amazing! Bangkok Kitchen operate 5 days a week and offer about 7 or 8 dishes, which mostly cost just under £5 for a more than generous portion. The mostly Thai staff cooks and serves from 2 little huts and the customers eat outside on various tables and chairs but 'al fresco' dining adds to the appeal of the place.
I'd highly recommend the Bangkok Kitchen for anyone passing or working nearby, it also provides a good alternative for those looking for a bite to eat that don't want to brave the often hectic Borough Market crowds, but sure to get there early as it gets really busy during lunch hours and food can sell out quick.
The Bangkok Kitchen can be found near the corner of Great Suffolk Street and Union Street, Southwark, London.
