Round The World Trip
Bangkok, Thailand Diary Entry

Today I had my Tiger Temple Tour... excellent day! Went to The Don-Rak War Cemetery, The Jeath War Museum and The Bridge Over The River Kwai, got taken to a massive waterfall in a national park where a few of us did some exploring and then went on to Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua (The Tiger Temple). Well what can I say apart from is was amazing! Bit nerve racking at first but totally amazing, I don't think I will ever have the chance to get that close to a tiger again in my life! We went into the complex and it took us a while to find the Tiger Canyon (these tours kind of take you to the general place and the tour guide points and you have to find your own way... makes it a bit more fun though!). Went into the Tiger Canyon and I kid you not there must have been 10 to 12 full grown Tigers laying about on the rocks, you queue up and a guide takes you round so you actually are standing in with the tigers and you are able to stroke and pat them. Another guy from the group takes photos! It was so good that myself and the other guy went in twice! Then we headed off to see the baby tigers who are barely 2 months old. They were so cute.
I ended up getting to know 4 more people today...
A girl called Bonnie and a guy called Alex who I spent the whole day with, both of them artistic would you believe?? Bonnie is a painter and Alex a designer. Anyhow, they both come from Auckland and so we swapped email addresses and I am going to meet Bonnie when I get there as Alex will still be in Thailand.
Then on the way back in the van we picked up 2 other people we were chatting to earlier... a brother and sister from Oz. The brother (Michael) lives in Cairns and so he gave me his number and told me to ring him when I get there. He is planning on taking me out and he knows some people who run trips, said he can probably get me some free trips to the reef and into the jungle and possibly wangle me a free bungee jump! Result!
Finally there was his sister Ellen who is moving to London so I got her email and will meet up with her and take her out when I get back.
How good is all that?? After we all got back from the trip we all went out to dinner together and had a totally good evening so far I think I have been really lucky and I have met some cracking people.
No need for you to worry too much about me getting lonely :)
