Round The World Trip
Wellington, New Zealand Diary Entry
Date Posted: 19/01/2006
Got up fairly early this morning (miracle) and decided to walk to the look out point at the top of Mount Victoria for a view of the city which was pretty impressive.
Got back to the hostel but none of the casualties from the night before had surfaced yet so I just killed a bit of time waiting for them to get up as we were going to do the Te Papa museum. As with all plans this never happened! I bumped into a Kiwi guy called Ant who had been travelling for 5 years on the trot and who had just arrived in Wellington on his way back home to Queenstown, it was his 30th and he persuaded me to go out for a drink with him. This guy was a little odd to say the least but no worse than the two Aussies Emma and I took for a BBQ in Manly. Ended up spending most the evening with this "random" and gathered up a little group from the hostel including Natalie (one of the girls from my bus) for another evening of drinks (including some illegal drinking down at the wharf). Quite a good day but also quite odd! As a result Te Papa never happened.
