Round The World Trip
Manly, Australia Diary Entry
Date Posted: 05/01/2006
This morning I got up to do the Sydney Bridge climb, 4am I had to be at the bridge so I could do the dawn climb! Weather wasn't too good. It was rather cloudy, rainy and cold! Hang on, that sounds like England!! I really do pick my days don't I?!? The climb was still fantastic though, the rain made it that little more exciting and added a certain danger factor. The Opera House looked really spectacular and the city looked rather eerie as some of the buildings were disappearing into low clouds. Even though we never got a bright orange sunrise like I expected the effect was still spectacular and quite magical. There was a certain point when all of a sudden it seemed to become daylight in the blink of an eye and by the time we were descending much of the cloud had cleared. I am really glad I did it (thanks Matt and Karen).
Haven't really done too much today, had to head back to Manly as I had left my camera charger at the hostel and checked back into the hostel I was staying in there as it felt like home! The weather still isn't too fantastic so I am going to go and look around one of the art galleries near Circular Quays in a minute and get a bit of culture!
No doubt I will speak to you soon, hopefully the weather will be better by then!
