Round The World Trip
San Francisco, America Diary Entry
Date Posted: 03/03/2006
Yesterday I pottered about in Foster City, said goodbye to my mum, dad and auntie in the afternoon and then headed into San Francisco about 5pm to meet up with Anna and Naomi, my 2 old travel buddies form Oz! Had a great night on the town doing a pub crawl organised through the hostel we all stayed in that night. Went to a bar serving $1 drinks - fantastic! Anna slipped off a bit early and Naomi and I realised we were pretty much the only people left from the hostel still in the club, I am guessing this must have been around 2am. Somehow we managed to get a taxi back to the hostel and actually get inside - it's all a bit of a blur to be honest. That just goes to prove it was a good night! Anyway, it was great to see the girls again.
This morning got up a bit worse for wear and headed into San Fran with Naomi on a mission to go to Subways (hangover food) and also to find Anna who had gone shopping. Went to 'The Cheesecake Factory' at the top of Macys in Union Square, dearest slice of cheesecake was $7! $50 for the whole cake! Must have been good cheesecake but our travellers budget just didn't let us find out! Spent most of the rest of the afternoon hanging out in a coffee shop, how very American. Anna was off to a Japanese Sushi restaurant that evening which her dad said he would treat her too and Naomi was going back to the hostel to help cook a shepherds pie (something she agreed to do while drunk last night). I walked Na back to the hostel and then headed back towards the train station stopping off at Hotel Utah along the way for a couple of beers.
Tonight I will head back to Foster City to catch up on some much needed sleep!
